February fun sessions to brighten up half term

February may be cold and gloomy but we have some fantastic sessions coming up to brighten up half term.

Noodle Performance Arts is running some free Introduction to Drama sessions at Greenhill Library on Tuesday, February 9. The two hour-long workshops are part of Sheffield Children’s University February Freebie event where children can take part in activities if they have a Passport to Learning from the Children’s University.

Noodle’s fun and lively sessions will run from 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm and places must be booked in advance by calling 07984 461 711. If you don’t already have a Children’s University passport, you can buy one from Noodle or your local library for £2.

Sheffield Children’s University is a scheme which aims to encourage children and young people to take part in out-of-school activities. Those taking part in sessions as part of the February Freebie event will earn credits which will go towards a Children’s University award.

As Noodle is a Learning Destination for the Children’s University, youngsters can also earn credits every time they take part in one of our classes, which include ballet, performing arts and street dance, as well as our holiday clubs.

Book one of our holiday clubs

We also have two holiday clubs at Beighton Lifestyle Centre to keep your children amused during the half term break.

On Monday, February 8, there is a four-hour workshop on Matilda the Musical running from 10am to 2pm. Suitable for children aged between six and 11, the session will involve acting, singing and dancing from music from the West End hit, inspired by the popular Roald Dahl story.

The cost of the session is £22.50 plus a small booking fee and children will show their parents what they have learnt with a performance at the end. There is a sibling discount if you have more than one child attending the holiday club.

On Tuesday, February 9, we are holding our popular Frozen School from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Suitable for boys and girls aged from three to six, this session focuses on having fun with dancing, singing, crafts and games.

There will also be a visit from an extra special Snow Queen and places cost £16.

At both our holiday clubs, children can be left without their parents. To reserve your child’s place, visit our online booking page.
